# 410-00315 Mini RF interface

## Description

### Overview

![overview](https://dam.nikocdn.eu/asset/169785/guideImage/410-00315_TG_005.png)

### Description

With this built-in transmitter, the functionality of existing switches or buttons can be extended with a radio interface.

When one of the four inputs (1, 2, 3, 4) is switched potential-free to GND, the transmitter sends a corresponding Easywave code. Which transmission code is sent, depends on the operating mode set via the DIP switches.

The learning button is used to pair (teach-in) the transmitter to an RF receiver (410-0033x).

You can connect buttons, switches and interlocked shutter switches. The LED lights up red during the transmission process.

## Operation and use

The diagram below shows the operational principle:
![https://dam.nikocdn.eu/asset/169111/image1000px/410-00315_TG_003.png](https://dam.nikocdn.eu/asset/169111/image1000px/410-00315_TG_003.png)

1. A push button or switch (170-0000xx) is hardwired to the transmitter.

2. When the button is pressed, the transmitter sends a wireless (Easywave) signal.

3. That signal is picked up by an RF receiver (410-0033x).

4. The receiver is hardwired to the device to be activated (e.g. light).

5. The receiver activates the device.

## Compatible products

* This product is compatible with Niko Flush-mounting RF receivers (410-0033X).

* This product can be installed behind a Niko blind plate (XXX-76900) or external wired push button (e.g. 170-0000X) in the colour of your choice.

## Operation and use

230 V -- ON

### Controlling via the push-button input (E)

This product has one push-button input (E), which has to be connected to L (see Wiring). The push-button input behaves like a transmitter button with button code B and should always be used in 1-button operation.

When used with factory settings, the push-button input works in the ON/OFF 1-button operation mode. The external button can be programmed in other operation modes or deleted at any time. If the external button is deleted from memory, the product returns to the factory settings.

* If the push-button input is programmed in the ON/OFF 2-button operation mode, it can lock the output. As long as the push-button input is closed, the switching output remains switched OFF. Radio transmitters are ignored during this time.

* If the push-button input is programmed in DEAD MAN operation mode, it switches the output ON as long as it is closed. However, radio transmitters can switch the output OFF again at any time.

* It is not possible to use the push-button input in the LOGIC operation mode.

### Controlling via wireless controls

Each wireless push button, hand-held transmitter or external wired button can be assigned its own operation mode. You can use the following buttons:

|                                          **05-311**                                           |                                              **05-312**                                               |                                              **05-317**                                               |                                              **05-318**                                               |                                              **410-00001**                                               |                                              **410-00002**                                               |

### Setting the timer

You can set individual switching times for the TIMER function. The base time measured during setting of the TIMER is multiplied by the selected multiplier. The maximum base time is 30 seconds, the measurement stops automatically after this. The TIMER is set to 7 minutes by default.
The programmed switching time applies to all transmitters programmed in the TIMER operation mode, even if they have already been programmed before the setting of the TIMER.

## Troubleshooting

### New installations

If the Easywave system does not work after being programmed, perform the following checks:

* Check whether the shield between the battery and the contacts in the push button or hand-held transmitter has been removed.

* Check whether there is good contact integrity between the battery and the battery contacts.

* Check the operation of the connected receiver. Press the programming button (P) on the front of the receiver. If the status LED does not flash, the receiver is defective.

* Check the operation of the push button. Take the hand-held transmitter and walk toward the receiver:

  * If the Easywave system works with the hand-held transmitter but not with the push button, it is possible that moisture or metal is present in the wall. Move the push button, or use a wireless Easywave repeater (05-535) to increase the range.

  * If the Easywave system works only at a short distance, the push button has been moved beyond the transmission range or there is a problem due to interference. Place the push button closer or outside of the range of the interference, or use a wireless Easywave repeater (05-535) to increase the range.

  * If the Easywave system does not work at all, even when you bring the hand-held transmitter close to the receiver, check the programming and/or the batteries of the hand-held transmitter.

### Existing installations

In case of problems in an existing installation, check whether the surroundings of the Easywave system have changed, possibly causing interference (metal electricity cabinet, walls, moved furniture, etc.) Restore the original arrangement, if possible.

The operation of devices with a remote control, such as a TV or video and audio devices, is not disrupted by an Easywave hand-held transmitter. The hand-held transmitter does not have to be aimed towards the wireless Easywave receiver. The indoor range is ± 30 m. In open spaces the range reaches 100 m. The range of the hand-held transmitter depends on the materials used in the residence.

A diagnostic device (05-370) can be used to determine the wireless signal strength in an environment. The appliance recognizes all 868.3 Mhz signals. The nine LEDs on the device will indicate the quality of the signals received or the strength of any interrupting signals. This allows you to determine whether or not the signal range of the hand-held transmitter will meet your needs.

## Operation and use

230 V -- ON

### Controlling via the push-button input (E1 + E2)

This product has two push-button inputs (E1 and E2), which have to be connected to L (see [Wiring](https://guide.nikocdn.eu/en/hmwc/Working-version/410-00333.md#wiring)).

* The push-button input E1 behaves like a transmitter button with button code A

* The push-button input E2 behaves like a transmitter button with button code B

When used with factory settings, the push-button inputs work in the UP/DOWN 2-button operation mode without slat adjustment. The external buttons can be programmed in other operation modes or deleted at any time. If the external push-button is deleted from memory, the product returns to the factory settings.

* In 1-button and 2-button operation, the movement command is carried out by briefly (\< 2 s) pressing the connected buttons.

### Setting the runtime

#### Runtime options

The runtime of the receiver outputs can be set separately for each movement direction. This protects the end position switches of a connected motor.

Each movement command received is carried out for the currently set runtime. This runtime applies to all programmed transmitters, even if the transmitters were already programmed before a measurement.

* The default setting for the runtime is 90 seconds for both directions.

* The maximum runtime that can be set is approximately 1.8 hours.

#### Runtime measurement

To be able to carry out a runtime measurement, at least one transmitter must be programmed into the receiver.

If you try to start the runtime measurement without at least one transmitter being programmed, the LED P flickers red for 4 seconds and the receiver switches back to operation mode.

To change the runtime setting, perform a runtime measurement as described in the steps below. You can repeat the procedure as often as you like, as long as the runtime measurement mode is active. The last measured runtime for each direction is saved.

If the runtime measurement was started with a transmitter, it must be completed with the exact same transmitter. Other transmitters are ignored for the duration of the measurement.
Make sure the roller shutter is completely open before you start the runtime measurement.

| **Desired operation mode** | **Action** || **Feedback LED** **(on receiver)** | **Note** |

## Wireless network

![Alt text](https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/guideimages/Manuals/WirelessControls/410-00333_TG_004.png)

## Programming

Power - ON

### Programming mode

In the programming mode you can transfer the codes of your transmitter buttons to the receiver.

The operation mode set with the jumper J1 at this point in time is adopted with the programming process and is valid for the transmission code currently programmed. A total of 32 transmission codes can be programmed.
In the 2- or 3-button operation modes, only one transmitter button has to be programmed. The code of the associated button is assigned automatically.

The programming settings of the receiver are saved, even in case of extended power failures.

If the LED flashes rapidly for approximately 4 seconds, all memory locations are occupied. A transmitter can only be programmed again if another one has been deleted first.

#### Entering programming mode

By briefly pressing (\<1.6 seconds) programming button P1 (for output 1) or P2 (for output 2), you will enter the programming process. The LED flashes.

## Wireless network

![Alt text](https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/guideimages/Manuals/WirelessControls/410-00335_TG_002.png)

![Alt text](https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/guideimages/Manuals/58-00-002_B.png)

|-------|----------------------|--------------------|
| **A** | Brick, concrete      | Loss of 20 to 40%  |
| **B** | wood, plaster walls  | Loss of 5 to 20%   |
| **C** | reinforced concrete  | Loss of 40 to 90%  |
| **D** | confined metal space | Loss of 90 to 100% |

A diagnostic device (05-370) can be used to determine the wireless signal strength in an environment. The appliance recognizes all 868.3 Mhz signals. The nine LEDs on the device will indicate the quality of the signals received or the strength of any interrupting signals. This allows you to determine whether or not the signal range of the hand-held transmitter will meet your needs.

### Description

The wireless two-channel transmitter is suitable for flush mounting and may only be used to control wireless receivers. By using this two-channel transmitter, you can expand the switching function of existing switches or push buttons via a receiver. The two-channel transmitter checks whether a switch/push button is live and transmits the corresponding code (A, B, C, or D) to the wireless receiver, which in turn switches the consumer. This wireless two-channel transmitter cannot be used in Niko Home Control installations.

If a voltage is detected at the inputs S1 or S2, the transmitter transmits the corresponding Easywave code (A/B) to an Easywave receiver, which then switches another device.
Shutter controls can only be used to control 2-button motor operation modes!
**Intended use**

The flush-mounted transmitter may only be used to operate Easywave radio receivers.

The manufacturer shall not be liable for any damage caused by improper or non-intended use.

## Programming the transmitter

### Procedure

The transmitter is programmed into the Easywave receiver by sending the desired transmission code (A1/A2/B1/B2). To do this, press a connected push-button or switch during the according step of the learning procedure.
For more information about the learning process, read the operating instructions of the respective receiver.

### Remote learning

The transmitter supports the POTA (Programming Over The Air) remote programming function. This can be used to reprogram an already installed and no longer accessible receiver, as long as the receiver is programmed into it.

Press the PTx (POTA) button for 5 seconds to start remote learning. The PTxLED flashes slowly.

When in this mode, POTA commands are transmitted as the connected buttons are pressed.

Use the jumper to select the code for the remote learning function, according to the following scheme:

| **Without jumper** | **With jumper** |
|--------------------|-----------------|
| S1 --\> code A1    | S1 --\> code A1 |
| S2 --\> code B1    | S2 --\> code A2 |

Connected switching elements must be open. It is necessary to use a push-button.

Hver stikkontaktsøjle ældes i sit eget tempo, hvilket gør hver enhed unik.

### **Patina-udviklingsproces**

* **Uge 1--4**

* **Måned 1--3**

  Oxidlaget udbredes og bliver mere ensartet.

* **Efter omtrent 6 måneder**

* forårsage et ujævnt oxidlag

* reducere patinaens beskyttende evne

* føre til pletter eller misfarvning af omgivende materialer

### **Rustrester**

* på lyse natursten

* på porøse belægningsfliser

* i nærheden af ubehandlede træoverflader

## Corten steel rusting process

This garden post is manufactured in **corten steel** -- a steel grade that naturally develops a warm, protective oxide layer when exposed to outdoor atmospheric conditions.

Upon delivery, the garden post is still free of corrosion. The steel has been factory grit-blasted to remove the mill scale and to ensure that the garden post will rust evenly.

After installation and exposure to weather and wind, the steel will gradually change colour and evolve towards its final, distinctive appearance.

Each garden post ages at its own pace, making every unit unique.

### Patina development process

* **Week 1--4**

  Initial colour changes may appear, especially after rainfall or morning dew.

* **Month 1--3**

  The oxide layer deepens and becomes more uniform.

* **After approximately 6 months**

  The steel reaches its stable final colour and forms a natural protective patina.

The speed of this process is influenced by rainfall, humidity, and the installation environment.

### Recommendations for patina formation

* Install the garden post in an open-air environment

* Ensure exposure to rain and sunlight

* Temporary colour variations or spotting may occur during the initial phase

#### Do not use rust accelerators or chemical treatments

Acids, salt solutions, or commercial rust accelerators may:

* cause an uneven oxide layer

* reduce the protective performance of the patina

* lead to staining or discolouration of surrounding materials

### Rust run-off

During the first months, rainwater may carry rust residues from the surface.

Avoid installation:

* on light-coloured natural stone

* on porous paving tiles

* near untreated wood surfaces

## Corten steel rusting process

This garden post is manufactured in **corten steel** -- also called corten steel -- a steel grade that naturally develops a warm, protective oxide layer when exposed to outdoor atmospheric conditions.

The steel has been Upon delivery, the garden post is still free of corrosion.

* **Week 1--4**

  Initial colour changes may appear, especially after rainfall or morning dew.

* **Month 1--3**

  The oxide layer deepens and becomes more uniform.

* **After approximately 6 months**

* on light-coloured natural stone

* on porous paving tiles

* near untreated wood surfaces

* **Semaine 1--4**

* **Mois 1--3**

* **Après 6 mois environ**
