LED behaviour on the DALI-2 broadcast module

LED OFF

The module has been installed and is functioning correctly.


The module has not been connected.

Connect the module.

LED continuous ON

  • The system or module is in TEST mode.

  • The TEST button on the connected controller has been pressed.

Press the TEST button again to leave TEST mode. If the LED doesn’t switch off, contact Niko customer services. The module might be defective.

LED 1/LED 2

LED flashing slowly

(1x per 2 seconds)

LED pattern 0x0001U



DALI bus error (short circuit or no voltage on the bus)

  • Check the BUS wiring.

  • The system might be overloaded, check if the drivers on this channel are within specification (quantity, type and sum of consumption).

  • If the problem persists, contact Niko customer services.

LED flashing rapidly

(8x per 2 seconds)

LED pattern 0x5555U

Communication problem

  • Check the module's power supply.

  • Upgrade the software version using the Niko Home Control programming software.

  • The thermal overheating might be active. Switch off the mains and let the module cool down.

  • The module might be defective.

  • Contact Niko customer services.

LED pulsing

(2x2 per 2 seconds)

Wait 2 minutes to complete the upgrade.
If the LED doesn’t switch off, contact Niko Customer service.
