Maintenance of the Danfoss Icon

Factory reset

You have to perform a factory reset on the Danfoss IconTM Zigbee® module or Danfoss Icon2 in the following cases:

  • You replaced a faulty wireless smart hub with a new one.

  • You want to remove the Danfoss installation from your Niko Home Control Zigbee network.

Danfoss Icon Zigbee module

A factory reset of the Danfoss Icon Zigbee module does not have an impact on your Niko Home Control configuration. All your controls and devices are still present.

Unplug the APP cable from the Danfoss Icon Zigbee module.

Push and hold the button on the module.

Plug the APP cable back in, while holding down the button.

When the LED is red, release the button.

When the LED is off, the factory reset is successfully completed.

Danfoss Icon2

You can reset the Zigbee chip without resetting the entire Icon2 master using the following procedure:

  1. Push and hold the > button.

  2. The LED starts flashing, goes off and starts flashing again.

  3. Release the button.

  4. Both LEDs light red and the output LEDs run in one direction.

  5. Only the OK LED lights up green.

  6. The factory reset is completed. You can now link the Danfoss Master controller to Niko Home Control again.

Replacing a faulty Danfoss Icon Zigbee module

In case you replace a faulty Danfoss Zigbee module with a new one, you have to redo the complete pairing, onboarding/addressing with the Niko Home app or the Niko Home Control programming software.

Replacing a faulty wireless smart hub

In case you replace a faulty wireless smart hub with a new one,

You have to:

  1. Perform a factory reset on the Danfoss Icon Zigbee module or on the Danfoss Icon2.

  2. Redo the complete onboarding process with the Niko Home app or the Niko Home Control programming software.

Extending or modifying the Danfoss Icon installation

If you:

  • extend your installation with new thermostats 
    or

  • modify the configuration
    and 

  • already paired the Danfoss Icon Zigbee module, 

than you have to perform a factory reset on the Danfoss Icon Zigbee module or on the Danfoss Icon2 and redo the complete pairing and onboarding/addressing process in the Niko Home app or the Niko Home Control programming software.
