Creating a global reading using the P1 port of the smart/digital meter

Starting point

Procedure

Connect the smart/digital meter with the provided P1 cable to the wireless bridge or wireless smart hub.

Result: The global reading (consumption from the grid) automatically appears on the touchscreen (550-20103) and in the Niko Home app.

  • No configuration is needed in the Niko Home Control programming software.

  • Check if the P1 port is active. If not, contact your electricity network operator to activate the P1 port on your digital meter. In Belgium, an activation is always required.

  • If your digital gas and water meters are connected to your digital electricity meter, also these readings are shown in the Niko Home app, on the touchscreen and the Digital black.

  • When you use the P1 measurement as a global measurement, it will take priority over any other global measurements that you may have configured with wireless measuring modules or electricity measuring modules (1 channel or 3 channels).

  • The maximum length of the P1 cable is 2 m. To extend the distance between the smart/digital meter and the wireless bridge or the wireless smart hub use an extra UTP cable and a P1 extension module set (Brand Cedel - Article number P1-VRL-UNV).
