Troubleshooting

Problem

Proposed solution

Cannot connect to the configuration interface of the DALI bridge

  • Check if the DALI bridge and the PC are connected to the LAN

  • Change the LAN settings on your PC

The DALI bridge cannot be found in the BMS

  • Check LAN settings

  • Check if Modbus is enabled

DALI-2 devices on the bus do not act as expected (e.g. luminaries cannot be turned on/off)

  • Check detector settings via the Niko detector tool app

  • Check Modbus register settings and avoid unwanted overwriting of detector settings

The BMS does not receive any data from the DALI bridge

  • Check that the correct detector firmware > 2.39 is installed

  • Check LAN settings

  • Check the Secure Modbus (TLS) configuration and ensure that client.key, client.crt and ca.crt are correctly configured on the BMS. Alternatively disable Secure Modbus (TLS) in the DALI bridge settings (not recommended).
