With the Site Connect license you can share elements (controls, device, routines,…) over different controllers and installations.
-
This feature is not free of charge. The license is activated immediately upon confirmation in the MOTIV Building Control programming software. You will receive an invoice by mail. If the invoice is not paid on time, the license will automatically be disabled.
-
Each controller you share elements with or that you import elements from requires a Site Connect license.
-
For more information about how to purchase the license, see Adding a Site Connect license to a controller.
-
For more information about sharing elements from one controller and share them with other controllers, see Share elements and Import shared elements.
-
Access control and energy are not yet supported (can not yet be shared).
Introduction
Multiple controllers can communicate and work together as 1 system enabling you to manage larger and more complex installations with greater efficiency and flexibility.
When to use a multicontroller system
Expanding an existing installation
Example: An outbuilding, e.g. a pool house, is added to an house with an existing MOTIV installation. The garden has a power supply and a network connection, but there is no connection to the existing MOTIV installation.
The existing MOTIV installation can be expanded with another connected controller or smart hub installed in the pool house, that will work together with the existing installation in the house. The multiple controllers and installations work together as 1 system.
Installing a multicontroller system in larger buildings
The same principle can be applied to larger buildings, for example in an apartment building in which each apartment has its own MOTIV installation. The common parts also have their own MOTIV installation. With the multicontroller system these installations can work together.
For instance, an individual apartment can trigger an action in the common parts or the common parts can trigger an action in one or more apartments.
Other examples where multicontroller installations can be applied are office buildings, hotels, public buildings, retail stores at multiple locations, a holiday park, …
