What can you do with MOTIV Building Control?

By connecting Google Home with MOTIV Building Control, you can:

• Voice control the most important actions in yourMOTIV Building Control installation (e.g. dimming the lights, switching the lights on and off, controlling the thermostat, and activating moods) with your Google Home device.

• Connect third party systems to MOTIV Building Control by using Google automations:

  • With a “Google automation action”, other applications can control MOTIV Building Control routines and actions.

  • Use MOTIV Building Control devices as “Google automation starter” to control other applications and devices via MOTIV Building Control.

What do you need?

General	No additional electrical wiring is required. You have a smartphone with an internet connection.
	Your MOTIV Building Control installation meets the following requirements: It has a wireless smart hub or a connected controller. It is configured with the most recent programming software (version 2.23 or higher). It has an active internet connection. It is registered. You have yourMOTIV Building Control installation e-mail address and password on hand.	If you have not registered your MOTIV Building Control installation, go to Register your installation.
	You installed the Google Home app on your smartphone and completed the activation. You have your Google username and password on hand.	You can use max. 15 MOTIV Building Control devices as a Google automation starter.

How do you activate the link between MOTIV Building Control installation and Google Home?

Once you have activated the MOTIV Building Control service in the Google Home app, you will be able to control your MOTIV Building Control devices or routines using voice commands. Only the devices can now be used as actions in Google automations.

If you also want to use MOTIV Building Control devices as a starter in a Google automation, you have to activate the Google Home connected service in the MOTIV Building Control programming software.

1. Check if you have everything you need (see above).

2. Activate the MOTIV Building Control service in the Google Home app:

   1. On your smartphone, open the Google Home app and log in with your Google account.

   2. Tap Settings.

   3. Tap +Add.

   4. Tap Service.

   5. Tap Works with Google.

   6. In the search bar, type MOTIV Building Control.

   7. Tap MOTIV Building Control.

   8. Tap Continue.

   9. Log in with your e-mail address and MOTIV Building Control password.

   10. Accept the terms and follow the further instructions.
       You can now control your Niko Home Control installation with your voice.

3. (optional) If you also want to use MOTIV Building Control devices as a starter in a Google automation, proceed as follows:

   1. Activate the Google connected service in the Dashboard menu. Select during the activation procedure the devices, actions or routines you want to use as astarter (max. 15).

   2. Create in the Google Home app the desired Google automation.

How do you deactivate the link between MOTIV Building Control installation and Google Home?

1. On your smartphone, open the Google Home app:

   1. Tap Settings.

   2. Tap +Add.

   3. Tap Service.

   4. Tap Works with Google.

   5. In the Linked Services list, tap MOTIV Building Control.

   6. Tap Unlink account.

2. (optional) In the MOTIV Building Control programming software, deactivate the Google Home connected service in the Dashboard menu.
